There are few things more American than kids playing baseball in the heat of summer in a sandlot, football in the backyard on a crisp fall day or basketball inside the warmth of a gym in the dead of winter. No matter what the sport or the season, GM Dealerships across the country recognize the importance of these activities for kids and are partnering up with youth sports programs in their communities by providing them with much needed funds and equipment to help keep these programs going year-around.
GM Dealership Youth Sports Programs are an initiative that establishes a positive connection between local dealers and the communities in which they serve. During each season, leagues in the program receive both monetary and equipment donations as well as the opportunity to raise up to $10,000 through a unique vehicle give-away fundraiser. For some programs, kids also get to attend an instructional clinic with professional instructors and may even receive game tickets to professional and semi-professional games in their sport.
GM dealerships know that kids should have the opportunity to be involved in athletic activities and that funding is tight. Youth sports programs are typically responsible for raising their own money and not all families have the resources to pay for registration fees. With the support from GM Dealership Programs like Chevy Youth Baseball, Buick-GMC Youth Football, Chevy Youth Basketball and Cadillac Soccer, many local communities have benefited greatly by being able to update facilities and equipment and allow kids to participate through scholarships. During the last three years, more than 700 GM dealerships have helped generate nearly $5.7 million in donations for youth sports programs from the dealerships and private parties.
